Happy Incarnation Day and Happy New Year as well! We hope you enjoyed your holidays. We didn't really do much for them, but we enjoyed my (Karl) being home for two 3 day weekends. For Christmas, my parents and little brother came to Joplin as a surprise, to be with us for Dante's first Christmas with us. They left Christmas morning due to a bad winter storm going through Texas and Oklahoma. Later that day, Casey's sister came down for lunch and headed back. Due to a kitchen accident in which Casey's hand had to get stitches the week previous, we had already had some time with Casey's mom and stepfather as they came down to help around the house while it healed. In all, it was good to have some family be able to visit as we were bound to Joplin.
As for the home study, it is finished! From our understanding, we passed with flying colours. We have had it sent to the lawyer to review it and let us know if anything else needs to be done prior to the January 28th court date. In this regard, we have a request. For the next 25 days, would you please commit to pray with us that everything will be finalized? We know that there is a high possibility that we will be instructed to jump through some other legal hoop, but we also know the power of prayer.
Finally, we are still on the lookout for ministry positions. As of yet, nothing that seems to particularly fit our situation/gifting has popped up, but we are searching. Casey might start befriending some Muslim women or volunteering at a local ministry. We are not sure where God is leading either of us, but we are open to suggestions, for temporary, local opportunities or for more permanent local and non local positions.
Thank you to those of you who have read along and prayed for us over the years, especially in this past year as we've gone through so many changes. We would love to hear from you about what is happening in your lives, so please email or call us!
Grace and Peace
