Rowing through Life

Waves like sticks beating against the hull reverberating like a bass drum across the lake as we paddle unceasing against the wind's onslaught with clouds looking gloomy overhead until the sun breaks through shining light on the water, as if trying to decide if it is welcome or if we'd rather the glare blinding us is not worth the inviting luminescence.

This is yet a reflection of the human life, as we go day by day being hammered by the storms of life we become so accustomed to the bad that when we glimpse the good we know we want it and need it but feel the slightest discomfort as it pulls the poison out and we decide we'd rather stay with the hurt than go to the light.
